Each to their own, my friend, each to their own.I thought we finally agreed, last time this programme was discussed, that it was a bit of harmless fun, watching a pleasant couple enjoying a new experience. A programme not to be taken seriously and with the usual fake situations etc. Will it change the way any of us uses our motor home ? Probably not. If you don't want to watch it there's a little button marked 'Off'. Personally, as a loooong time fan of Paul Merton, I enjoy the programme and am happy he's found a lovely lady to share his life after the sadness of losing his previous wife. Happy New Year to all. Gill.
Please don’t get me wrong, I too am a fan of Paul Merton, especially some of his fantastic documented work on the life and comedy style of Charlie Chaplin, and deep down I too wish him all the happiness he can have having endured a very personal and traumatic episode.
His wife is also quite funny, but I am sorry to say that for me, this programme is not something that shows them in their best lights of comedy in their own spheres.
Paul Merton is far too clever and quick witted for this.
Just watch him on Have I got news for you or listen to him on just a minute on radio 4.
A very clever man, one I would love to meet.
It’s the programme content and storyboard that I find rubbish, and a shame that the pair have been enticed into a level of “ entertainment” that I feel is below them both.
Only my opinion though, as is yours which I also respect.
