Weinsberg compact gaslow set up

Would it be best to go for 2 of 11kg or 6kg gaslow bottles, as we don't collect van for a month and are getting fitted on our way home. Have booked in for 6kg but was thinking spare space etc.
Also has anyone fitted on the lower skirt of this model the filler.
Don't really want hassle of pipe to locker door.
Lastly could an adaptor be installed to hook up our small butane bottle for emergency back up.

Hello, not a Weinsberg but a Sunlight T66. I fitted 1 x 6kg Gaslow. The top up I fitted in the skirt.Relatively straight forward. I added a lanyard to the cap as I know I will get forgotten when filling at some point.
We did 3 weeks in France earlier in the year and only refilled once, costing £4.50! So were not big gas users.We use a combination of the one refillable, and one 6kg exchange Calor cylinder. The Calor cylinder didn't get touched. I hope this helps.

We have a Knaus and have 2 x 11kg bottles in our locker, Knaus make Weinsberg so good chance they will be same size.

I would fit the larger bottles if they fit the locker. and the filler anywhere except the door.

Have a look at Safefill bottles.
The LPG shop could also have the adapter to the small butane bottle.

In all the years we have had transporters from our bay we bought in 1980s to our newer T6 never bothered about gas/fittings and diy gas but had a near miss other weekend whilst using our fridge in France. Struggled to light fridge and when lit after 10 mins could smell gas, moved regulator a little to check it was tight and whoosh. 1 metre flame and a fire in between camper and awning struggled to put it out but not before it has burnt a hole in our airbeam awning singed my fingers luckily our labrador wasnt hooked up to van and didnt damage paint on T6. Its all replaceable so no drama just dont want anymore dramas so thats why making sure we get gaslow and its fitted properly. Will ask at vanbiz for this bottle adaptor, thanx

I'd get one big bottle (biggest that fits) and one smaller bottle as back up.
Even in winter without EHU a small bottle would last a number of days.

The small bottle could be a standard Calor bottle which would mean an easy swap in a campsite if you run out (but fittings are country specific and not compatible in other countries).
The big bottle should be a refillable as it considerably cheaper, and in Europe many fuel stations have LPG pumps.

As for the location of the filler point, it depends on the structure of your van.
Ideally want it as a reasonable level, between mid thigh and shoulder.
You don't want it at knee height (or even lower!)
If the locker door is the best place, then that is where it needs to be (ours is, and it's fine)

Hello, no not required as the skirt is profiled aluminium.

Gaslow supply a U.K. POL Easy-Fit Adapter for Calor cylinders. They also have a similar unit with a gauge, which is handy if you want to run periodic checks on the integrity of your gas installation. IIRC they also have a complete adapter/gauge/connector hose assembly for POL calor to the van fill point available but I can’t find it on the website so give them a call if interested.
