We are a very happy couple today, just bought a 2006 Autotrail Scout SE on a Mercedes 316 chassi. It has all the toys we could possibly and is in beautiful condition. Looking forward to 1st July when we will tax it to bring home.
Start of another phase in our retirement.

Finally kissed the frog that turned into a Princess, and only 10 miles from our home, having travelled to see a lot of MoHos.

Chuffed is todays word.

Nice . Good to see a solar panel on there already 👍🏻.
Result !

Great old busses them we had a 2004 Cheyenne 696g SE 😊hope you get out and enjoy it now?😊

Step one, have a great journey in your motorhome.
Step two, simple, repeat step one.
Enjoy July, pay us a visit at Woodside Field if you venture down this way.

Nope, think that, excpet for motorbike/dinghy trailer we are all set. 17 years of owning our offshore boat means we have all we need, and then some.

Looks a very nice find. The fun really begins. Enjoy

Good looking van despite the rain, you will probably need more Solar eventually, just depends on how/where/when you use the van!

I have always aspired to having a motorhome with a ladder up to the roof. Lucky you.
There is a rack up there, but capacity is 40kg. Not sure what would go up there. But handy for cleaning the roof I guess.

Funnily enough I have 250w of spare panels in my garage at home, left over from my liveaboard boat installation. No shortage there, will install when we have assessed our needs. It has a Victron MPPT controlleer, not sure of the capacity. Things to keep me occupied!

Stop! Do not walk on the roof. Somewhere in the Autotrail handbook I read that you must not walk on the roof. I suppose it would be OK to go up the ladder and wash the roof with a soft brush and hose from the top rung, but don't put any weight onto the roof itself.

The roof rack is in the middle of the roof, as can be seen from the pic above. It has the solar panel attached to it at the mo.

Lovely looking MH. Just a few days now until you can enjoy it! 😁

I have the Autotrail Handbook for 2006, and it is clear that it is OK to walk on the roof, except be careful in slippery conditions. Here is the extract:

Well that's good news. I'm sure I read I couldn't walk on mine. I was going to check my handbook and then I remembered that it's in the motorhome and I've just put the winter cover on ..... now that's another story altogether!!
