Afternoon,

Having purchased my 2018 Carthago I 150 on 8th December, we are now getting ready for our first proper outing next week. On our senond journey (just to local weighbridge) after collecting it we encountered cluthch issues, which got sorted under warrently and we picked it up last Monday. So we are two months into motorhome ownership and still not been able to use it.

So we just collected it from storage to get it home and we now have a Warning triangle light on the dash. Not other warning lights and it drove the 4 miles home fine.

When we collected it last week from the garage (fixing clutch) it was fine (40 miles)

It's a 2018 Ducato.

Any ideas. Our only idea is to call out recovery and see if they can find an error code.

Hi, a warning triangle is a Generic warning,
Engine oil pressure sensor,
Fuel cut off switch
Parking sensor if fitted
Rain sensor if fitted,
daylight running lights if fitted

so i guess if it was fuel cut off youd be driving nowhere! and the others apart from the Engine oil pressure sensor you may not have or may not be critical.

check the engine oil level just to make sure as a start point. but calling out breakdown could be an option if its just a sensor playing up they may just clear the fault and it be ok.

hope you get it sorted.

Mine came on last year - for no apparent reason and went out again within the hour

We had the warning triangle lit when picking up our new van (2018) we stayed at Brownhills until they changed the engine oil pressure sensor. The warning triangle came on intermittently for the next two years. We then took the van into a commercial garage outside Preston who advised it was the engine oil pressure sensor that needed replacement. But we have already had it done. Yeh, they were swapping them out for faulty units. Been right as rain since.

Thanks for the quick replies.

We just dug the manual out and found out the same as mentioned and also that it may be a problem with lights

We've just started it up again and the light has gone off. Will wait for the rain to stop and then check all lights. The above to the previous forum post was very useful, will do all those checks when the rain stops.

The vehicle was fully serviced before we picked it up (300 miles ago) and since then the gearbox has been removed and new slave cylinder fitted (40 miles ago)

We had a 2015 Elddis and when we picked up the van we had several rear lights that came on and went off - the lead replacement contacts oxidise and increase resistance - we swapped all the rear lamps and it fixed it, you could also clean with a carbon brush

Best check light bulbs and contacts for corrosion.they do cause warning lights if electrical connections are not clean.rear lights seem to be the more problematic.

Almost certainly it'll be something to do with the inbuilt oil level sensor. If the van has been parked at an angle, the oil level on the sensor is altered outside of it's pareameters , to little or to much !!. It will go out eventually, it's just disconcerting driving with the bloody thing shining out at you. It's possible to eliminate it straight away by dropping off a starter battery terminal, which I have done previously.
As long as you have physically checked the oil level on the dipstick is within to low to high window , [and what a pain in the derier that is seemingly needing at 25 dipping's to get a near consistent reading], all should be well. Good luck.
Mike.
