Would it cook running off an inverter whilst we drive. It could sit in the sink and stew nicely.

If the inverter is running off the engine battery.

If its running off the hab battery the split charge may not be able to provide enough current to keep the battery charged.

We ran ours off a teeny tiny inverter plugged into the cigarette lighter

Thats around 16amps and unlikely a split charge will deliver anywhere near 16amps.

Our solar would cover that with help from the engine --------we we run slow cooker or remoska while driving quite a bit, never had the slightest hint of low batteries

No, it's correct.
200watts ÷ 12v =16 amps(as near as)
It still draws 16amps from the 12v battery to make the 4/5th (as near as) of an amp at 230vac

MrD is more practical. Have you considered the real cost of generating electricity via the engine? Only use electricity to cook when it's available from EHU.

Yep, no problem. We have often done a ham/gammon joint in ours, whilst motoring along.
We use silicone elasticated cord to keep the lid in position, and free from rattles.

We've used ours from inverter from leisure batteries while driving, but only when the sun is shining. The split charger cannot cope with this and the fridge without solar support.

The slow cooker doesn't use as much as its rating as once hot it switches on and off on the thermostat.
With a b2b charger you should be OK

I use a slow pot but not whilst travelling as most times I need slopot on for longer than the journey.

We’re away at the moment so don’t have access to the slow cooker. It’s a small one for 2 people

Our Cookworks slow cooker is rated at 200W, and runs off our 300W inverter.

Why mess with a slow cooker?
I think MrD's thermal cooker is a better solution:
No smell;
No danger of spillages or need to clutter the sink;
No need for an inverter, convenient socket or lead across the van;
No need to switch between Hi/Med/Warm;
... just heat it up and leave it to do its stuff.

Can’t get to grips with mrd’s. We have our slow cooker with us, it’s been used almost non stop this last 3 months in Morocco, for lamb, mince dishes and of course goat and camel.

I have a small slow cooker ,run it on the move ,via inverter .
on low twin 110a batts topped by solar .
Not a problem ,except cooking smell coming from rear and a 100 k to go

not sure about in the MH whilst driving but I now use a king pro pressure cooker instead of my slow cooker does exactly the same job but in a 10th of the time meat falls apart and only takes an hour also no smells untill you open it up and if it is possible to use whilst driving (not sure it would be) no chance of a spillage as lid is sealed tight

Does anyone know what a pressure cooker would consume power wise
