Found this thin yarn in a Chinese bazaar in Almerimar so I’m attempting a lightweight scarf/ wrap. It’s teaching different stitches I guess but doesn’t grow very quickly ;( We are in benidorm now until after Easter as my sister is flying in, so I will do my best to do at least a Poppy a day :)

I love it :h:

@Debs .. I don't think David G has messages .. could you ask him to point Bev to our thread please when you speak to him ... I think she may have some to drduct too .. not sure. :)

Yes he does Joy, but please consider my street cred

this is a girly knitting thing, I don't really get knitting, I really don't get crochet

But Bev is producing for her local WI or similar, but she will join in this weekend and produce some for this cause (y)

I must say that these poppies is about the best use I have ever seen knitting crocheting put to :)(y)

@Puddleduck I have been very naughty:oops:
I have ordered a set of KnitPro circular needles to give me lots of sizes and different lengths of cable.
Do I need them?...........NO
Do I want them?...........YES but how do I explain them away? Can't exactly say to Derek - these old things I've had them for ages.
Note to self: Must be around when the postman calls :whistle::whistle:
Pamela, I only use circular needles, I’ve never been able to get the hang of normal ones.Knit pro are great needles. I have a lovely set of Addi Click and have just acquired a matching set of interchangeable crochet hooks ;)

I’ve made another 19 poppies. I think that makes the total now 49,706

That’s what we all said before we learnt David. Don’t worry, you are among friends here, we are a very supportive, inclusive group. With perseverance and hard work you will soon pick it up. Your secret is safe with us.:D

@Ven I love the look of that yarn and I don't usually go for multi-coloured but the shading of that is lovely and it's pretty when worked too.

@Chrysalis I'm looking forward to trying out the needles when they come. There have been different reviews about them unscrewing and so on - I hope I'm not disappointed.

I ought to have a break from crochet in case my hands start to seize up BUT that means I will have started yet another project which doesn't get finished.(n)

@movan Did you ever discover your granddaughter's favourite colour for her cardigan and did you take up that knitting course? Do you want any patterns - knitted or crocheted?

@movan the picture is of all the poppies made so far. 11 of them made since I last deducted from the total so the new total is 49,714

I have managed to get some red yarn and some black yarn. The black has sparkly bits. Both balls came from Poundworld and cost £1 for the red and 50p for the black as it was in the sale :)

Hope to get more poppies done after the weekend.

I am going to be brave and dive into my wool stash, I may be some time, if any of you could see my stash you would understand.......dive, dive, divvveeeeeee:doh:

I have to say I have a ridiculous amount of wool acumulated in a month or so, which living in a van is a worry ;)

Is it just me that starts umpteen projects just to pull apart
and start something else because I don’t like the look of it?

Here's my current project. Only done 42 squares. I could be some time . Just debating whether to do one big one for the centre and put the little ones round the outside?

@scousebird For a minute there I thought I was looking at my stack of cream squares. I think I've done about 40 and still going. I'm thinking of putting the coloured squares in as the black squares in a crossword puzzle grid so the majority will be cream squares. Way to go.

I am feeling really guilty about buying those circular needles. I smuggled them into my workroom but not unpacked them yet. I am vowing never never never to buy secretly again. It's doing my head in.

I love that!
From what you've said, Derek sounds like a really good bloke. Take him a cup of coffee, let him see how excited you are, and just tell him! You know he'll be really happy that you're happy.

Don't feel guilty, I sneaked off and bought a Shetland pony, MrA did figure out that he was mine in the end, but he loves him.....

That is one bonus of keeping horses at a local livery yard and having your own trailer to pick him up.;)
The thing is I only had two horses at the time, now I only have Chester(the Shetland).

@movan I've finished doing poppies for Ripon. What do you need poppies for? I'll do you some but I'm also committed to doing some for our village.

I was at The Scrap Store today. Not much of use to me this time round but I got felt and buttons and a very small hank of red mohair. Also we have booked a cruise for when our "lodgers" leave so I will be taking crochet hooks and needles / thread.

Must go and get some quilting done now..... with a motorhome trip and a cruise before the quilt is due to be finished I need to get my skates on :)
