enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
To be fair, she has been busy aswell for the last few weeks, getting everything ready to AirBnB our house in May. We do it five or six times a year, for a max of two nights each time. She has just told me that because its raining i can 'have a day off' ..

so, the options for me today are

watch films on tv that i have been waiting to watch (as theyre not really her genre)
add a double socket to the kitchen area in the motorhome
convert my starlink to 12v (one of them anyway) - im not talking about the router, i am talking about Dishy Mcflatface
spend a day on forums, generally chatting about 'stuff'

what do you do when given a day off ....???

Definitely something in the van, I would go for the double socket and see what time is left

Too windy and cold for paddleboarding so may go for a bike ride, new bike I bought on Wednesday is still a novelty might be in the doghouse if I don't after what I spent on it.
What bike did you go for

Obviously (judging by the silence) already out on it, or busy reconfiguring the electrics?
Could well be 😀 I bought an E mountain bike a couple of years ago and for me there is no going back, good fun.

The problem now is that she knows I've finished that job .... PP Bear - any suggestions as you seem to have mastered the dark art of being busy doing nothing .....

Wellllll, take em off again and then fettle a bit, pop the kettle on, under the pre-tense that they need testing for steam emissions, make a brew, sit back, look at them very intently if SWMBO comes looking for you, reattach them, then remove em again and make another brew, telling SWMBO that you’re now conducting the “dunky biscuit, accidental splash test” to ensure that they won’t short out from the 10000,0000,0000,000 to 1 chance that a biscuit could break off after dunking and that could cause a tea tsunami, resulting in the tiniest splash of tea entering said socket, shorting out the entire electrical system, maybe even the campsite and all because you failed to conduct said testing……..then refit, only here’s the clever bit, keep one of the mounting screws hidden in your pocket and when SWMBO comes looking, you can say you dropped it down the back of the most difficult to reach area and are in the process of trying to either find it, or source a replacement.

You’re welcome, again 😁😇

PS, will they pass the habitation check not having the flippy uppy cover thingy, that the one you removed had. Now if so, I’ve some great ideas for at least another 2 days out in the van, including an overnight on EHU and a free night as a FLT before heading back and announcing that in fact, all’s well on the leccy pluggy socket saga. 👍🏻

the one that had a cover was actually fitted by me after moving it from somewhere else in the motorhome. There were no sockets there at all originally. I understand what you mean re the potential to splash but im pretty confident its not an issue, I may see if theres a double flap cover available, or just get another single but as i said im not too concerned.

Specialized Turbo Tero X5.

Before anyone comments on the saddle being low, it's a remote dropper makes it easy for old farts to get on & off.

What does SWMS mean? 🤷‍♂️
She Who Must Shop ...... home or away, never misses a chance to pursue the opportunity to enter retail establishments of one sort or another ...

Now started on another project, moving the switch that isolates the vanbitz growler internal sensors from the dash, to the bedroom area, so it makes it easier when we set the alarm at night, without having to access the cab area. A small gain but in terms of function its worth the time I spend doing it in my opinion.
To be fair to vanbitz, its not something i asked for at the time of installation but after having used the motorhome a few times and wanting to disarm the internal sensors at night time, it will be a useful alteration/mod.

Would a couple of those child safety plugs do the job?
Mike.

Be careful, you don't want to use all your projects up at once, always good to have a few essential tasks in mind when SWMS/BO asks if you have anything on....

All wiring complete and switch tested - works perfectly ..... however the small neon rocker switch that Vanbitz fit would look a little odd next to a bank of silver 'Berker' round light switches and a 3 pin socket. i like the neon as it shows when its 'on', which means that when we are in the MH but want to arm the system (i.e. go to sleep etc) and want to disarm the internal sensor then we can tell immediately if its on or off.
i cant find any Berker type round switches that have a neon, so unless anyone can point me in the right direction, than i will have to use a c-line type switch with neon and use a silver frame so its in keeping with the existing.
Or has anyone adapted a Berker switch to add a neon, or i suppose i could have a separate neon just as an indicator ....??? Not going to rush into it, until i think it through properly or someone knows where i can get exactly what i want from somewhere - a silver Berker round switch with neon indicator!

might have found something ....

Looks like the switch i had found isnt going to work. No-one seems to stock them and the 'seller' only sells to the trade in lots of 10 ..... back to the alternative of a rocker switch with neon in it. it will still look reasonably 'stock/original' .....

Next job, dashcam permanently wired in via the courtesy lights in the cab area.

Unfortunately the dashcam didnt work out (YET)...... there isnt enough power to feed the dash cam - will check my connections tomorrow and run a new cable to the dash cam if necessary.
