Good Afternoon

This is probably totally the wrong forum for this question!

What on earth do you take ( in a small car) to enjoy a Monday-Friday self catering break in a chalet by the sea?

We are “ between “ motorhomes but have booked a short break away. It’s so strange because normally we would just pack a few clothes and away we go.
Such a lot of faff thinking of all the things we might need , that we take for granted in the motorhome.

Will it have this? will that be provided?

So if everyone can chip in with a short list of essential items for a self catering break, hopefully everything we may need will be covered, or at least considered!

Cheers!

Corkscrew and bottle opener.
And Wine and bottled beer to make use of both implements.
That's it.
Nothing else needed, other than your bucket and spade and crabbing line for the beach and harbour wall, and cricket set for the beach.
Sorted!

If Butlins: -
Mop, bucket, cleaning clothes and dusters.
Every kind of detergent and polish you would normally use in your own home.
Your own sheets and pillows and cases.
By the time you’ve got the place habitable your break will almost be over and time to return home. 🤣🤣

Ask the holiday chalet accommodation owner for an inventory of what will be provided. :giggle:

We regularly stay at one of the Holiday Property Bond's (HPB) 35 self-catering locations in the UK and Europe and know exactly what will be provided at each site - a precise and comprehensive universal list of kitchen utensils and equipment for example, whether staying in a 2-person studio or an 8-person villa. Plus iron, ironing board, hairdryer and so on and so on...

So no real qualms deciding what to take. ;)

Iron and Ironing board??
Seriously?
We just take clothes that don't need ironing.
They don't even get ironed at home, let alone on my holidays!

Good Evening

thanks all!

Taking, but not mentioned… our own pillows.

And scrabble…

Biggest decisions are clothes for the unpredictable weather.. shorts, raincoats or both!

Food we will just buy as required so no worry there. ( although taking brown sauce)

Mrs in Northampton insists on cleaning cloths, anti-bac wipes etc. ( and it’s not Butlins but have read a few poor reviews regarding cleanliness since booking)
I think that’s why we prefer motorhome life.. at least any muck is our own muck!

The more I read of this I am getting the picture that you may make Professor T look normal.
But I do understand your concerns.
Hope the place is upto your expectations.
Have a nice time.

Folding chair and a knotted handkerchief for your head. Roll up your trousers and of course socks and sandals on your feet. :)

Long time
That looks disgusting.
Make sure you review the place, and don’t book it again!
