Super thing to have,however,watch your roof. They have a habit of pecking at tiles,grouting etc. We had them at the last village we lived in Very pretty and a bit noisy at times. A magical pet.

Saute a finely chopped onion in butter and when golden brown seal the breasts all over and pour over 2 floz whiskey and flame, when flames die place in the oven and cook. When cooked add 1/2 pint double cream and heat until sauce thickens. Add tablespoon Dijon mustard and a squeeze of lemon. Serve.

We have them pecking around the ground under the bird feeders. My dog killed two beautiful males when he first came here by chasing them and they got trapped in the stock fencing wire. It was awful. Now I ring a bell before I let him out and a squirrel always runs off and the Pheasants have a chance to fly away

We have ‘Kevin’ - he had been a daily visitor to our garden for over a year. He used to sit patiently waiting for the feeder to be topped up. He is a stunning bird but we’ve not seen him for a little while. We still hear him squawking close by. Our dog ‘surprised’ him in the garden and may have frightened him away
