Just getting ready the season. I have been sanitising the water system. I am now getting a pulsing at the filter which doesn't seem to retain water, and the cold water feed pulsates. Any ideas? TIA.

but I thought the filter was in line before the pump

The filter is BEFORE the pump to prevent debris getting onto the valve seats and holding them open.Ps: that filter bowl is after the pump so if the problem was post pump it would at least be filling the glass before emptying it again and causing the pulse.
Therefore to me the fault lies in the pump or the feed to the pump.
Just had a look at ours and you are correct I was wrong! The filter is BEFORE the pump to prevent debris getting onto the valve seats and holding them open.
It'll be the filter bowl is cracked as usual

No, no surgery damper fitted.Have you got a surge damper? They can crack after a winter.
….or are those fitted after the pump?
It'll have a hairline crack.Hopefully it's a faulty cap and nothing more serious
That long? Wow!Just needs time to pump through to 'solid" water - can take up to 2 weeks but usually just a couple of days

It was originally mounted the other way up. I had previously turned it to bowl uppermost to see if it made a difference. Sadly it didn't.Try mounting it with the bowl underneath, looks like air in the bowl that won't clear.
For info..Just getting ready the season. I have been sanitising the water system. I am now getting a pulsing at the filter which doesn't seem to retain water, and the cold water feed pulsates. Any ideas? TIA.
