Thinking of up plating my 2021 Adria Twin 640 SLB to give me a little more weight allowance.

Has anyone done this and what weight did you get it to without any modifications from standard?

Thanks.

I'm assuming it's on the XLWB Maxi heavy chassis in which case you should be able to go up to 4250kg (or 4500kg if you really want) without any mods. What does the weight plate show?

Fill out the enquiry form on the VWE website and you’ll get advice on how high you can go with or without changes to the van.

Few years now
On my previous van ( Adria Twin) i was able to go to 3850kg without mods. I fitted air assist so was able to go to 4250kg.

Thanks, I’m looking for 3850, last van I could only get to 3650 which was hardly worth the effort.

Andy MacD If yours is auto Andy, like mine then the combined axle weights are 3980t I think. So I’m guessing getting it to 3860 shouldn’t be a problem, just a paper exercise but the axle weights would remain at 2000 rear and 1980 front. They increased the front suspension re the auto box by about 200k I think.

Please let us know how you get on out of interest

If you have the auto box upgraded front suspension and these wheels it should be possible to go to 2400kg on the rear axle with Dunlop (maybe other brands) rear air assist - giving 4250kg all up.

Standard Fiat wheels, van is an auto. Seems no one has up plated. Will find out what’s available and update post.
We have a 2019 640slb standard wheels and uprated to 3850 with van weight engineering. Sent the required photos but i needed to fit air bags on the rear because the rear leaf springs were flat.
Did this sent the required photos back and van was uplated pretty simple process.
Kenny.

With the standard chassis you won't change the axle weights without adding air-assist suspension (AAS) to the rear so although you can uprate they'll remain at 1850kg front and 2000kg rear but with a MTPLM of 3850kg, it may allow you to utilise more capacity obviously but often the place you need the extra capacity is over the rear axle so if that's what you're struggling with then you need to include the cost the AAS too.

A Brucie Bonus however is that the road tax is only £165 a year for a PHGV!

Did you get anywhere with this Andy? We are getting a new 640 SLB in January, standard chassis. standard wheels. I have a C1 licence so might be interested in up rating if its possible.
