We have had the same TV since we had a Mazda Bongo years ago, it's now in the 4th van which is much larger than the tiny Bongo. We have just done the first tryout trip and decided we could do with a larger TV I've tried a 32inch from home and it fits so now we need to find a 12 volt tv. We don't have sat so don't need a freesat tuner just Freeview. So what do you recommend please?

If it’s any use to have another perspective, we use my laptop and either tether to the phone for signal or download films for wet evenings. You can stream live TV if you need it too. The laptop goes on the table, we sit in the swivelled-around chairs and enjoy. The screen size (13” MacBook Air) is perfect as it’s right in front of us, the sound is excellent and so is the picture quality.

Once over, the laptop just folds away and we don‘t have a socking great TV to store. Battery life on the laptop is also amazing, so it doesn’t need to be plugged in while in use.

We use a samsung galaxy s8 5g with a 14.6 screen in our converted sprinter to watch live TV and a laptop with a 2tb hard drive nearly 900 films on on the laptop I also download iplayer to as it then doesn't need data they are over the top just for a couple of hours tv but on a rainy day we have choices.

Many domestic Smart TVs run on 19vDC and are supplied with a 240vAC transformer with a 3 pin plug. You can use them in a MoHo with a 12/19vDC laptop power supply that will plug into a standard 12v automotive ciggie socket (or can be adapted for any 12v supply).

We have a 22” LG Smart TV/Monitor that was in the Argos sales last year and is powered (along with a Firestick) as above. Don’t limit your search to 12v TVs.

Spend £85 on an inverter and you will have the choice of any 230V TV and sound bar on the market.
Far cheaper, bigger and better spec.
Inverters are easy to install (and remove if you sell the van). Take a separate 13A extension lead to where you want to fit the TV -- Simples
They are handy for many other applications including charging bikes and wheel chairs.

Now a little one
I recently fitted one of these. Most impressed for the price, sound a bit tinny but as I run it through a Bose Mini Sound bar it's not an issue.

I know that would be a good option but I don't have enough solar and battery

There's very little difference in the demands of 12V 24" TVs and 230V 24" TVs. I thinks it could be 10% more through an inverter.
That one of mine is a 28" Samsung with the Samsung sound bar. I have two 130Ah L/A batteries and I'm never short of power
