Have I just been unlucky or are others having problems with the Fiat Tyre Pressure Monitoring System? From day one It has registered as unavailable and when they put it on the computer it says "Left Front sensor not detected system requires software update!" (or something like that). They've changed the sensor twice and run two "custom supplied updates" from Fiat and still the TPMS doesn't work.

Am I the only one?

Sorry can't help.... But instead of just replacing the sensor twice the computer jockey's (pretend mechanics) should be physically looking for a fault in the wiring etc..... But they probably don't know how 'cos the computer can't show them how.

Thought I'd give an update on this

Today they finally fixed it, after a third party fitter was sent in by Fiat. He plugged the trusty computer in ran the diagnostics package, "Software update required" ran all the updates no change. Still doesn't recognise the front nearside sensor. "Run software update" says diagnostics.
Changed sensor - Still not recognised "run software update" say diagnostics.
Mr specialist then starts looking round the wheels and hey presto !!! There's no sensor fitted to the front offside wheel!!!!! Put a sensor in that wheel and it all works perfectly.

So it's taken 15 months, multiple sensors, god knows how many software updates and all it took was someone to walk round and look at all of the wheels instead of believing what the computer says is gospel.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Have the Iveco one on mine and it’s shite!
Warning came on when after collecting it from Germany and driving back even though all pressures were good, thr van got taken back to Germany as it had some big issues that needed sorting so said to them about it.
They fixed it and then when it came back the light was on again🤬
The warning light is always on but when you look at the display the tyres are the correct pressures but showing one as not, then another day it will show another tyre as a fault even though it’s showing the same pressure as the others.
Back over to Germany in a few weeks time and it’s on the repair list for them again.

Not holding out much hope☹️☹️

The wife has figured out where they've been going wrong (Well she used to be an IT manager).

The diagnostics software and presumably the "Black Box" that controls the TPMS are all of Fiat origin. The majority of vehicles produced by Fiat will be LHD. No one has bothered to tell the TPMS diagnostics kit it's looking at a RH drive vehicle.

So when the software say "Nearside" it means continental nearside not UK nearside. Simple really when you think of it!
