The Caravan and Motorhome Club increases its European campsite portfolio for summer 2024 from as little as £20 per night*

(07 May 2024)
The 2024 European campsite programme from the Caravan and Motorhome Club is the most extensive ever, with 43 new campsites added across seven countries. Stretching from North West Ireland to new addition, Montenegro, the Club introduces more great value holidays making touring across Europe easier than ever this summer, from as little as £20 for two adults, per night.*

The new campsites are located in France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and for the first time ever, the Club is introducing three campsites in Montenegro. Whether it's exploring a National Park, marveling at mountains or enjoying sandy beaches, for first-timers or experienced explorers there is a campsite for everyone. Introducing the new campsites means the Caravan and Motorhome Club now has a portfolio of 340 across 15 countries, ranging from small and charming 20 pitch campsites to larger resorts with 1,000 pitches, multiple sports, spa facilities and food and drink options.

Montenegro may be a small country with enormous variety, but it is fast becoming a tourist hot spot. Its Adriatic coastline offers beaches, crystal clear waters and historic towns and villages. Inland, it has spectacular mountain landscapes including Europe's deepest canyon and five National Parks. The three new Montenegro campsites include:

Camping Zlokovic, Bijela
This campsite is family run and situated in the heart of the Bay of Kotor, the UNESCO listed World Heritage Site, with its famous landmark ‘Our Lady of the Rock’. Tourers will find it perfect for exploring the local towns Bijela, Herceg Novi, Perast and Kotor. The campsite also has direct access to a beach by the Bay of Kotor. Prices start from £26.09 for two adults per night.

Camping Maslina, Buljarica
Situated on the main Montenegro coastal road in Buljarica, Camping Maslina is only 200 metres away from a black sandy beach. With a peaceful setting, the family-run campsite is set in amongst 300-year-old olive trees providing welcome shade on the pitches. Tourers can visit Budva and Bar, two of Montenegro’s largest coastal resorts for a day trip a short drive away or for nature lovers the Skadar National Park is worth a visit, 22km away. Prices start from £20 for two adults per night.

Camp at Bocha's, Zabljak
This campsite is set close to the main town in the Durmitor National Park and at an altitude of 1,450m there are plenty of stunning views across the countryside. Perfect for adventurers who love walking in the national park or white water rafting in Bitine, where you can also zipline above Tara River Canyon, the deepest in Europe. Prices start from £26.21 for two adults per night.

For a more leisurely pace there are plenty of new campsites added across the English Channel in France. From peaceful locations such as Les Charmes, in Saint André-d'Allas, where you can sample freshly made bread in the morning, dip in the small covered pool or enjoy spending views of the sun setting over the hills in the evening to L'Argentière in Cogolin for something a little glamourous, taking in the finest villages and beaches of Côte d'Azur in a distinct Riviera setting. Campsite prices at Les Charmes start from £22.78 for two adults per night and from £35.65 at L'Argentière.

For tourers looking for some Spanish sun why not head to Huttopia Parque de Doñana, located in Hinojos, in the heart of the Doñana National Park and a calm pine forest. The campsite offers a white sand pool, evening entertainment and a great Food Corner, perfect for families. Or for beach side, why not try Camping Valencia, with two large swimming pools, 200 metres from the sandy beach of Pucol and a 25 minute drive from the city of Valencia. Campsite prices at Huttopia Parque de Doñana start at £24.61 and at Camping Valencia start at £33.91, both for two adults per night.

Or why not head to the Emerald island of Ireland, where the Club has added two new campsites to its portfolio including Lough Arrow Touring Park in Ballynary. The four star, adults-only campsite is set on the shores of the beautiful Lough Arrow in County Sligo, perfect for touring the north west of Ireland, and for those who fancy some fishing, rambling or exploring the nearby towns. Campsite prices in Ireland start at £26.09 for two adults per night.

Club members booking through the Caravan and Motorhome Club also save up to 10% on Le Shuttle and ferry crossings and can access special ‘combined deals’ when booking a campsite and ferry together, with lowest price guarantee. Those who book early can benefit from lower prices. For further information about becoming a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club or to book, please visit www.camc.com or call 01342 318 813

Perhaps;s the C&MH Club would do better providing UK pitches for 2 people at £20 a night!!!
Exactly.

We've had that rate from the rival club but outside of CL's, CAMC has never been that cheap here.

We would find that £20 / night for MH & 2 adults still expensive compared to most sites in Europe. Admittedly there are exceptions; however those are more of a 5 star experience.
We travel throughout Europe but holiday in costa del sol , just a few miles short of Marbella where; admittedly; with long term reductions; it works out at €14 / night. Two pools; sauna etc. etc.
When the local sites look at what the Brit’s are willing to pay - prices may well be
Increased. Personally we only use Camper-stops; our holiday site being the only place we pay more than £10 -
If indeed anything.
However it is you are comfortable with and what is reqd.

Travel well and Travel Safely.

But they probably won't be that price which is a "from" price and we all know what that means in terms of CAMC pricing, anyway 'Ive had bad experience with their booking sites in Europe. I remember on our first long trip to France I booked some sites through them at a price they quoted, only to find on arrival if I had gonee direct they would have been much cheaper and had I used an ACSI card even cheaper still. we are taking well over £150 for the trip overall. Of course I soon found out about ACSI and Aires so never used CAMC again.

Indeed ! : one other issue with a club booking is :- whether it be for ferries or sites; they are not open during the weekend and therefore changes cannot be executed at this time. In addition fees are charged usually at a higher rate.

Getting Better
Just did a comparison and for instance camping Maslina on that list for a week in mid June is indeed £20 for a pitch, BUT book it yourself and it’s €18 for a campervan and €20 for a motorhome so in reality it’s £17.19 for a motorhome…🤷🏼‍♂️

So what is the point of paying to join this club when they charge you more money to book the same pitch..🤔

I think the other misleading thing is that people think they are CAMC sites which of course they are not. Even way back when touring with the caravan we didn’t use these sites.

Maybe relative newcomers feel more comfortable by booking through a British organisation - until they've been over a time or two and realise that it's not difficult/scary and easy enough to find sites ad hoc whilst touring over there.

Like most of the promotions from CMHC, the headlines are good but tin reality, not so once one reads the details! 😢
