Trying to solve a TPMS warning light (new TPMS module, will hopefully fix the problem once I receive the new module) and checking things our pre-MOT I found a crack in the rear N/S wheel. If you have steel wheels, remove the wheel trim and check the wheels for cracks etc. Any doubt get it checked or replace.

At least being steelies they are easy fix. Drill a hole at end of crack, grinder/clean out the crack and a nice bead of weld and it’s good as new! 🤔🤪
I could easily do that, but heating the steel to fusion temperature may introduce unknown stresses. Normalising would reduce internal stresses but I don’t have the facilities to do this. As wheels and tyres are critical to keeping you on the road, a new wheel is the safest option.

How old are they?
Front or rear?
What's was the loading?
6 years, N/S rear, tyre pressure 80psi, air suspension added.
