‘Lost or stolen passports​

If your passport is lost or stolen, you must renew your passport or apply for an emergency travel document. You cannot use a police report to leave Spain.’

Saw the above in this week’s U.K. Gov travel update for Spain. A bit of a problem I suspect should you be the victim of theft or loss, no longer an easy option to simply get a Police report to leave the country via plane or Spanish ferries. Not sure what happens in France in such circumstances.

Must admit I always thought you had to get an emergency passport or travel document. I remember one of my god-daughters having to do it in Netherlands before Covid . Not absolutely sure if it was before or after the B word though.
