I am fitting a new rear view camera to supplement the reversing camera already fitted. That does not have two channels so can’t add a second camera to that.

I need to mount the camera high on the rear panel with two screws and a larger central hole for the plug and lead to go through. Never done this before so thinking…..

Pilot holes into the outer skin to take the mounting screws.

Pilot home and one of those conical hole makers for the central hole.

The rear wall seems about 50mm thick so assuming an inner skin, insulation layer and outer skin?

Then, non setting sealant into the larger hole and around the mounting screws.

A gasket of some sort between the mounting bracket and wall to reduce scuffing over time.

I’ m tad nervous about drilling holes in the van so am I about right in my thinking please?

You are. Though if the camera bracket isn't stainless I'd make a replacement that is and ensure that all screws are stainless too. The large hole only needs to be big enough to allow the connector to pass through.

Can't remember ;)
If you’re drilling a big hole for cable then two small screw holes won’t make a difference. Use Puraflex 40 😉
