As mentioned on another thread, I recently purchased a T Piece and second propane pigtail for my van. Having just tried to connect the new pigtail to a cylinder it didn't seem to make a seal, you could hear gas leaking as soon as valve was opened. Tried with a second cylinder as first was new refil, but same.

Looking at the new (right) versus the old (left), although thread size and end seem the same, on the new one there's an 'insert' with a hex socket. Tried to see if this would unscrew but it didn't seem to, although I didn't want to force it.

Have I bought the wrong pigtail? I assumed there'd only be one propane type.

Forget it, rookie error, shouldn't have assume the gas was leaking at the pigtail connection to the bottle, it was T Piece to elbow joint connection that'd come loose. All seems to be sorted now.

Since 2015, still learning
Think there might be a rubber piece missing off the end of the right hand picture. Check it hasn’t got stuck in the bottle’s part. Happened to me once
