A fellow Funster suggested this festival with camping (@marrod23 (y)) & having looked at the excellent line up http://www.oldbushblues.co.uk & the Tripadvisor reviews of the food & beer at the pub https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...ick_Malvern_Hills_Worcestershire_England.html which is the hub for this event think it looks like a good one :)
The dates do sadly clash with the Malvern Show but there are plenty of Funsters to go around so hopefully some interest in a meet at this festival? The camping is a few minutes walk away at the village playing field & toilets & showers are provided. Dogs are allowed in the camping area & the outdoor areas at the festival. During quiet times the pub bar is also dog friendly but not if very busy. It costs £45 per person if booked by phone with Matt (the organiser & landlord of the pub) or £48.50 each via the website - this is your entry to the festival & camping from Thursday 4pm until midday Monday. As it's the weekend before Sunshine Festival it might also be possible to arrange overnight stops for the few nights in between Old Bush Blues & Sunshine but there a very limited number of spaces available for this. Please post on this thread if you might want to go along & if enough interest hopefully it will go ahead as a meet.

This festival does sell out each year as it's been going since 2001 so has quite a following & limited to around 600 people but think we should be ok if these go quickly as won't be fully booked quite yet & sure that the Matt will hold the early bird price for us if there is enough interest :)
Thank you for everyones comments so far (y)

Fairly new to this rallying & never been to a festival... is the recommendation to go ahead a book a ticket independently - then sort out logistics of getting together on the campsite?
I think I quite fancy it even if it doesn't turn into a meet/rally

With meets you do book direct but if we can get enough interest as a potential group then we may be able to negotiate a better deal (y)- we try for arriving earlier &/or leaving later, a dedicated area (best spot possible) so we can all be pitched together & if possible a reduction in ticket price. We have achieved at least some of these so far with Sunshine, Mello & BunkFest. Matt has asked how many of us there would be then we can see if any of the above are possible so posting this to gauge interest. If anyone wants to go ahead & book that's fine but please let us know so we have the numbers so we can try & get everyone pitched together in our own area at the very least. The arrival time on the website is 5pm (bit busy in that area :unsure:) but already we have been offered 4pm & earlier may be possible... We would try for anything that might improve overall Funsters experience of the festival.

Hi we did it last year really laid back & excellent musicians sadly can't do it this year very good value for a small price also if you like rock & roll there is a excellent weekender with camping at Dursley Gloucestershire called Rockabilly Shakedown 2017 really friendly crowd cheers Rod

Can anyone that is interested in this @Langtoftlad @Lenny HB @Wildge please go ahead & book at the Early Bird Price - if booking by phone (01905 830792) just remember to tell Matt that you are a Funster & your registration so he can make sure there is a camping area set aside large enough for the meet (y) If booking by Paypal please add these details in the note section. If you can also post on this thread that you have booked then I will keep the list updated.

@Wombles
@Mattkaka
Just booked & paid this very minute (y)

Not sure if us Wombles can do this one yet - so many festivals :inlove: & we do have to do some work this summer!

Funsters booked for Old Bush Blues so far:
1. Langtoftlad

Bump - wouldn't like anyone to miss out :)

This festival does sell out so don't leave it too late to book & post on the thread - if enough Funsters book then we may be able to have our own allocated area!

@Langtoftlad Lucy Zirins gives a lovely soulful performance but what about these to liven things up http://thedelrayrockets.com/ ! :dance2:
Just shows what a range of acts there will be (y)

Bump - don't want Langtoftlad to be all by himself!

Arrival time at the official camping area is from midday Thursday now :) (according to the website) so even better & festival starts at 5pm that afternoon.

Amendment - camping is from midday on Thursday but festival starts midday Friday - my error reading the FAQ :blusher:
