New owner - best way to get this system working (1 Viewer)

Hi

Just took delivery of a 2011 Hobby Toskana 690

It has these bits re satellite tv

I’m assuming I need a satellite receiver, if so what is best?

I’m with Sky and have a Q box, should I assume that’s no use?

Will I need some cables?

Also there’s another tv bracket and cable in the rear bedroom, would I just plug a new tv in?

If I get a tv with an inbuilt satellite receiver would I have to alter the wiring?

As you can tell I have no idea, or should I just get an installer to look at it?

A TV with an inbuilt satellite decoder such as Avtex or Visionplus will work just fine with the Camos Satellite Dome .
Just connect the Sat feed cable from the Camos control unit direct to either a standalone freesat box or as a I mentioned earlier a TV with a built in decoder

Now why doesn’t that surprise me.....

I think the gold coloured box just splits the incoming signal to two TV's. It may even allow you to watch a different programme on the 2nd TV.....but just guessing at that.

If you only intend to use a single TV, then this box is not required.

My secondhand van came with 2 TV's and had a similar box. I've removed the 2nd TV and disabled the splitter box.

If you want to access sky q them i think you will need to replace the transponder on the sat dish.
