Many thanks to all of you, sorted now. This morning was quoted 4.5k , managed to get down to £557 fully comp, breakdown, European travel, windscreen etc. So Adrian flux can do one will not recommend them.
I went with CAMC but as they came in at a good price but you had to take their membership to access the prices quoted.Which insurance company is the most cost effective
I did Adrian Flux. It's going up 16% this year to £483 which is quite a mild increase. Mine is 2002 and LHD. Hope that's usefulWhich insurance company is the most cost effective

Individual circumstances seem to make a big difference. Some companies base prices mostly on post code, some have different value limits and some don’t provide enough windscreen cover for A Class motorhomes. Some have very limited contents cover but this may already be covered by your home insurance. Sometimes companies give big discounts to catch new customers but try to pull it back in later years. It may also depend on the broker. I use NFU but some of their branches aren’t interested in motorhomes (Brockenhurst and Chichester branches are good for motorhomes). You probably need to shop around to find the best prices and terms that suit your requirements.Which insurance company is the most cost effective
Currently paying £434 for my A Class with Comfort just got a quote for the new van due in a few months. £1000 they said it was due to the value, they don't seem to like vans over £100k but now days not many vans under that.I was getting quotes yesterday for a possible new van, and comfort seem to be anti "A" class now, there was a difference of nearly £1,000 between an "A" class hymer and the equivalent coachbuilt!
Happens with mileage as well, on my car I've been quoted more for 2000 miles a year than 4000.I posted recently a factor that I didn't know until now made all that much difference.....
Helped a friend replace a written off old runabout car.
Insurance company said this when she went on their app to check new car details effect on her insurance.....
Value car at £1000 - extra charge of £36
Value car at £2000 - extra £75
Value car at £1800 - REFUND of £136!!!
I may not have remembered the exact ££ but you see the madness of the system!

I've not tried this yet but a friend of mine told me to look at "excess gap" insurance so you get a higher excess, reduce the cost of the insurance and then get the gap insurance to cover your excess. Wondered if anybody has used this?Currently paying £434 for my A Class with Comfort just got a quote for the new van due in a few months. £1000 they said it was due to the value, they don't seem to like vans over £100k but now days not many vans under that.
Yes, both if over £100k, NFU the same now they never required either before.Have they insisted on the CAT1 alarm and trackers as well?
I feel your pain , i was passed on from the Philippines to South Africa then I demanded to speak to someone in uk which believe it or not happened !!!! It was to do with gas /electric ,a lady who could barely speak English she was in a different time zone

Why bother?I got my renewal for mid-April: up from £239 last year to £342 now (no changes to any criteria). Ageas is the underwriter in both cases (obviously, as a renewal).
So I've been doing the rounds: first CAMC - £257 with Ageas (better than the £25 they "guarantee." to beat a quote by).
SAGA: £265 via A Flux, who I wouldn't touch with a bargepole (even if they've raised their windscreen cover above £1500 where it has been every time I looked previously), then £274, £295 and upwards.
30 minutes later I get an email from Confused.com quoting exactly the same figures: hmm!
CCC: £406 was their best although they had an identical Ageas policy for £522 (more than double CAMC!). I'd just closed the browser when I got a phone call from them, to eventually be told "sorry we're not competitive this year. Try us again in 12 months".
Obviously, all quotes are on a like-for-like basis including key cover & legal cover, but compulsory excess varies between £100 and £450 (Ageas being the cheapest)
I shall keep looking!

I think it's more important to make sure you have the right cover than the cheapest price. Reducing your annual mileage can make a big difference to the premiumWhich insurance company is the most cost effective
My Adian Flux policy, on My Adria Twin, increased by over 25% ! to £620 . Part of the reason for the increase was their 'Policy fee' going up from £80 (which was high in the first place) to £106. Their other addon , as usual , was the issue fee of £30. Without all these costs the policy cost from the actual insurer would work out at less than £400. Adrian Flux ? would not recommend.I did Adrian Flux. It's going up 16% this year to £483 which is quite a mild increase. Mine is 2002 and LHD. Hope that's useful

Reducing the mileage from 8k to 6k only saved around £50I think it's more important to make sure you have the right cover than the cheapest price. Reducing your annual mileage can make a big difference to the premium
Our insurance renewal for our motorhome with CAMC went from £675 to £1075 this year! Rang our local NFU Mutual and arranged a better level of cover for £536. Very friendly staff to deal with and able to spread payment over 12 months at 0%Which insurance company is the most cost effective
