Whilst your there climbing the steeple at Ulm cathedral is an experience not to miss.
Might have to stop on the way back then as I do like climbing a cathedral tower but we only stopped the night, we were under a tree that was raining sap or honeydew from aphids and everything was getting sticky so we upped and out.

Got it wrong - just checked again and it was the one below:-
Again it has a popular Stellplatz attached but not cheap!
View attachment 897713
Had a look at that one today and the Camping Brunnen as well, the camping Brunnen could only accommodate us for three nights so decided to stay put but is a nice spot right on the lake, although the pitch they were offering didn’t have a lake view and would have been a bit of a hike with the canoe.

Bit of a ride around today just to get our bearings, 32 miles total and we rode into Austria but no Go-Box required on the tandem😏
IMG_2657.jpeg

Lots of photo opportunities,

IMG_2651.jpeg

Lovely scenery everywhere you look,

IMG_2679.jpeg

And then🤔 but no it didn’t rain.

Really struggling with phone signal so TBC.

Another 30 miles today but windy and quite cloudy and cool so only one photo and it doesn’t do justice to the scenery,
IMG_2682.jpeg

Looks like someone in the distance is getting wet and that’s where we are heading but never caught us and the ground was dry when we got back so all in all another good day.

Been there, done that, and wouldn’t bother again to be fair but I know some like it more than us😏

I first went there because a girlfriend lived there, and even went to Midnight Mass at New Year in the Cathedral.

We since went back for Basia to see it, but we thought it too touristy then. No plans to go back again.

Well we have not had enough of this place yet😏
IMG_2687.jpeg

IMG_2693.jpeg

Only 10 miles on the bike today, 5 each way to the cable car, up past the castle,

IMG_2695.jpeg

It’s only €30 return but some people do a one way and then jump off?

IMG_2698.jpeg

Not a bad view though,

IMG_0686.jpeg

That’s the top but a bit of a scramble,

IMG_2709.jpeg

IMG_2708.jpeg

IMG_2705.jpeg

Jen being the sensible one declined the scramble and sat on a bench worrying about me😊

Need more practice with selfies😃

I said Jen was the "sensible one" and usually she is but watching the tandem para-gliders jump off the top of the mountain she said "I imagine that's really nice" as she watched a couple climd higher on the thrermals, I said "do you fancy a go" and she didn't say no so it looks like we might be back here next year :giggle:

We have navigated through Austria twice without a GoBox with the SatNag set to avoid motorways and tolls!
We ve also done it but would advise a bit of pre planning andvhaving a zoom in on the route.

You definitely dont want a dodgy google short cut. There are too many places you dont want to be with a motorhome.

Oh come on Martin.

Jen was not sitting on the bench 'worrying about you' - she was on the mobile checking your life insurance was still valid.

[Great photos]
Sorry I should really have said "worrying about driving home on her own"

We were in Ulm on Weds and the scaffolding is still there and the climb up still restricted.

If you like, the walk (or ride) along the river is lovely and if you get a chance, the tilted spiral staircase over the river is good fun.

An hour and a bit south of Ulm (although in Austria) is a suspended foot bridge between two castles -
Route 179
The views are spectacular, the castles wonderful and there are funiculars. Not for the faint hearted but very safe nonetheless.

That looks like a good suggestion and we could cycle from here (Fussen) but may be running out of time, or at least in danger of overstaying our welcome on this Stellplatz but there is another next door so we could move 50 metres  and maybe top up with water on the way.

We expected to stay an hour, but there was enough to entertain us for the whole afternoon.

Have fun
👍

Another day another bike ride👍 37 miles this time and there were literally 100,s of bikes out today, again nearly all on cycle paths or very quiet rural roads,
IMG_2715.jpeg

IMG_2717.jpeg

IMG_2718.jpeg

Stopped to have a sandwich and coffee and there was a cycle workstation with all the tools you might need 👍

Somebody then decided we were going to go up to the Marienbrucke (bridge) overlooking Neuschwanstein castle, that was a hard walk after 30+ miles on the bike but to be honest it was worth it,

yes the sky looks a bit threatening and yes we got rain, big spots and I think I counted 32😏

So tomorrow if it looks like another nice day I think we will stop another night and do the bridge suggested by Oldrat if it raining we will move🤔

That castle is fabulous, best of luck with the next bridge 👍

My backside wouldn’t last 10 miles on a bike, electric or not.. and I’ve got cycle shorts and a gel saddle 🤭

I said a lot of it demands a bit of hard work and that goes for the horses that will drag you up or part the way up to the castle,
IMG_2738.jpeg

but when I saw this one said "hybrid" I had to have a quick look underneath, no under the carriage not the horse  and indeed it had an axle and diff so I am assuming some sort of battery power(y) after our bike I would say a brilliant use of battery power.
