Hi We are currently in the south of France with a Huawei router and a Lebara data sim card. We have had no luck getting WiFi anywhere so far on it. Anyone else had this problem? I know it uses the Vodafone network and of course it worked great at home but been useless over in France.
We have tried an iPhone and a Samsung as well as our tablet but nothing despite getting data roaming OK.

Is Lebara any good for the south of France?

Have you turned on roaming on the router.
Do you need a different apn , I know with Smarty you need a different apn for roaming.

I had the same problem in France with my Lebara SIM and it turned out that it was not set up properly. I don't know why as it had worked perfectly in the UK. Anyway, I found this help article on their website and after following the procedure it worked perfectly. It's shown as being for a Samsung A53 but the procedure worked fine on my different Samsung mobile and may well work with any Android device.

^^^^^

I tried that on my phone in France and that alone did not work. The link I posted above shows more information being entered. That did the trick and no restart was necessary.

Thanks for the info. I have tried the above and still caget anywhere. I changed the settings on my phone and restarted both my phone and the router. I can connect to the router through the WiFi but can't get on to anything despite the Huawei app telling me I have signal.
What I need is a teenager to sort this out cos at the moment this has cost me £25 for nothing. I am ob5missing something but I have no idea what!

Lebara France uses the Orange Network, try doing a manual Network selection.

Yes. Need to charge APN settings on your router/ mifi for roaming, as per above. Used Lebara SIMS last year in France and Spain in a TP Link mifi without issue.

A phone call to Lebara support? 0207 0310791 if you can use another UK mobile to call them?

Very frustrating when this happens. The names I called Lebara do not bear repeating. Luckily I got mine working in the end but our phone with a Tesco Mobile SIM worked perfectly from the moment we entered France without all this faffing around.

Good luck

That does seem to vary depending on where you are in France. My Lebara SIM started off using Free, then changed to FSR as we moved region.

Can you put the SIM in your phone and use the settings from Manic above.
If that works you then need to get those same settings into your mifi.

Bertie Bus here are screen shots of my Android settings for the Lebara SIM (Settings>Connections>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names):

See whether your settings differ. I know that I had to change a few of the default settings to those shown in the screen shots to get Lebara working. The password is wap.

Edit: I should mention that after entering those settings I didn't have to restart my phone. I just returned to the previous page to make sure Lebara Internet was selected then I closed down settings and it all finally worked.

Thanks all for the info. I have tried everything but to no avail. I have unlimited data on my Vodafone account on my phone and so I am using data roaming instead.
Libara sim doesn’t work for me in France but worked fine at home so something is wrong.

If you were using it in the UK have you run out of data? I think it is 12 gb roaming on Lebara.

I can't quite remember and haven't got access to my notes (they're on my laptop and I'm using my phone) but as well as settings roaming up on your phone/mifi I think you also need to do it on your Lebara account too, have you done this?

Well after a call to Lebara, it turns out that apparently the sim won't work in a router according to the chap I spoke to. I put the sim in my tablet and he sent me some sort of code and hey presto it now works.
A big thank you to all who tried to help out.
