Hi all.
Hopefully this is in the right sub forum?
I love my music. So I have bought some nice small shelf speakers for the van. I want to mount them on the rear wall of the van. I’ve made some tidy little shelves to take them. The speakers and shelves are not too heavy about 500grams each. But here is the problem. The rear internal wall is obviously made of an 1/8thick veneer ply and screws won’t hold. I’m assuming behind the ply is some form of insulation?
Does anyone have any suggestions of what fixings I can use? Our van is pretty much immaculate so I don’t want to go hacking it about.
Thanks in advance
Mike

I use the Hettich or similar plugs and screws, like a mini rawlplug, it the same as used in the construction of my Pilote..

I noticed that they also used a wood dowel for locating/ vertical support as well as the plugs/screws.

I use an industrial strong Velcro for jobs like that. That duvet cover is strong Mike, When I enlarged the image I felt a bit queasy :D
You would definitely be queasy if I was on the bed lol

I may be wrong with my suggestion but what about some inset fixings which provide a more secure fixing base for screws.

Only problem with velco type fixing is if you want to remove it, it often takes the vineer off where if you have used a fixing you can fit a screw cap over the hole.
With patience and heat to loosen the adhesive Lenny, and you can even save the veneer on a crappy old British built Elddis van. (y) :ROFLMAO:

Use hairdryer to warm the glue
