Having scanned the forum for pointers (mainly, avoid Adrian Flux), I've just been getting some insurance quotes.

I was pretty impressed with Ripe's quotation system - after providing a quote, you can then tweak the excess:
£500 excess: £417.63
£250 excess: £420.32
£100 excess: £423.00
No excess: £425.69

What!? Eight quid to avoid a £500 excess... yeah, I think so!

But they also allow you to tweak the windscreen cover which defaults to £1,000 cover. You can put it up to £10,000 for an extra £60 on the premium.

So... the question is, what does it cost to replace the windscreen on a McLouis Fusion 331? Any ideas?

I might want to pay £60 if the screen costs £10,000... but not if it's £500...

Cheers!

Maybe call Autoglass and ask for a quote, as stated it's just a Ducato van windscreen.

Van screen - easy and available.
A-class and RV Motorhomes is where the fun starts and £3500 is not uncommon.
Ours is £6500 - covered on NFU, don't think there is an excess on it either - have not needed one ...........yet.

The windscreen cracked on my old Renault Trafic approx 30y ago. I was "saving money" at the time so only insured TPFT

The local windscreen company quoted me £350 for a replacement but when I turned up and said it wasn't an insurance job the price came down to £110.

2019 Burstner A Class (736) was £3230. To replace. Had made the mistake of using the insurance factory for cover phoned them to specifically ask as this is our first A class is the windscreen fully covered the reply was yes. When it cracked I had to pay £2230 towards it. On enquiring there reply was the windscreen is fully covered up to their maximum of £500 buy as a gesture of goodwill they raised it to £1000.
