I had a "FREE" thing that stopped pop-ups and annoying adds jumping out at me for a few years...

It worked great, especially as it was free and easy for a numpty to install...

My puter was getting a bit slow so I did a clean, but forgot to tick a couple of boxes that save things you want to keep...

Now every thing I open..... up pops bloody adverts.....

Is there a simple free one I can install ????

Otherwise shall shut this thing down never to be turned on again...

Do you use Chrome Maurice ? if so just add Ad Blocker extension, just do a search for Ad Blocker

For those of you using Adblock Plus do you know that it is now owned by an ........... advertising company......... who allow some of their own adverts through.
That's the reason we switched to uBlock Origin.

Some adds have disappeared of some things i click on but others I use they still appear...

When I click on "Down load add-block"... It asks what I am using !!!

I don`t know I think windows 8-9-or maybe even 10..... This computer is OLD, it` an old Toshiba Satellite intel core 13..

presume I am not clicking the correct box when they ask Chrome, Windows ? or what ever...

In your web browser you should find a menu with "add-ons" or similar.

This will show you what add-ons your browser has, and should also allow you to search for new ones.

You should be able to search for Ad-Block or uBlock Origin, and it will then install the correct one.

When you click on the Adblock Plus link, do you get a screen similar to this with the circled tab ?

Buy a big roll of duct tape & simple tear off a piece to stick over the adverts on the screen! Simples, job done (probably)

I am surprised this one has lasted so long..... got 2 or 3 defunk ones in the loft....

Then click settings here

then click extensions here

then click this little do dah

That may do it .
