Good afternoon,

The Freesat channels are broadcast on Astra 2 so if you have a lock then you should get everything however what you will receive will depend on your location as the Freesat channels do not stretch as far into Europe as some other free to air channels and Sky's encrypted services do.

The freesat EPG (Electronic program guide) is also only available to Freesat affiliated Receivers/Satellite TV's so even though you will receive the full compliment on any free to air satellite receiver you will only receive them ordered and in the Freesat 7 day listings guide if you have a receiver with the Freesat logo (see attached).

Freesat do not operate any channels, so there are actually no "Freesat channels "

Freesat, as above, is simply a programme guide pointing to a selection of free to air channels.

If you "Can locate Astra2 and get the normal free channels ", then you should also be able to get all the other channels on the Astra satellite...even on an" off the shelf" or "free to air" receiver.

In fact these " off the shelf" or "free to air" receivers will get more channels than a Freesat receiver as not all free to air channels are on Freesat (C4HD for example).

(unless you put the FReesat box into "non freesat mode", in which case the Freesat box basically becomes a free to air receiver with limited functionality)

If you cannot get channels, like Quest etc, then perhaps your receiver is not scanning the correct frequencies, or do not have the latest frequencies in your receiver. (Most have a NETWORK or NIT search option which will update the frequency list in the receiver whan a scan is in progress).

Or, you are in an area where the signals for the channels you want are very weak...yes, even if you are getting "the normal free channels " frequencies vary in strength and the Dmax Quest channels are on a very weak signal, and hard to receive if out on the fringes of Europe...where the signals do stretch as far into Europe as the free to air channels and Sky's encrypted services , you just need a larger dish to get those signals as they get weaker around mainland europe.
