I think it must just be an exhibition piece, can't see it standing up to much hard work/torque used by the belt size of those pulleys?

Gears would seem to be a more practical solution. It would be interesting to see how much vibration there is when it's running.
Exactly! It makes one wonder why it only shows 4 very slow revolutions and not a belt in sight?

Can’t remember exact number but you lost either 20% or 25% power at the back wheel running a shaft drive bike versus a chain drive. This isn’t theoretical it was proven converting shaft drive to chain.

There would be losses on the setup in the video but no idea how it compares to crown and pinion. Saying that it would be relatively low powered drive system anyway I would expect
