Before I commit to these, they seem a very good price, almost too good, have I missed something 🤔

Compared to Tayna who I always thought offered very good value

It was plus VAT 🤔🙄 but still £20 cheaper than Tayna 👍

I did think I was looking at saving £100 though, hence my fear I was buying the wrong battery 🙄😁

Try Tayna for price matching before committing.

I would check the manufacturing date, could have been in stock a long time so may be trying to get rid of them.

With your van being a keeper have you considered Lithium, ideal time to change if you need new batteries.

I did consider, but felt they would need to be located inside, so more complicated , but my final decision was based on risk of frying my alternator with it being nearly 20 years old 🤔👍

This format has served us well for 11 years I decided why pay more for not much benefit and some risk

Yes I missed the plus VAT and like you I would be reluctant to go for a price match, basically we will have your eyes out but if you catch us out we will still try to get your business

We've had 2 of them in our Hymer for 5 years, never had a problem yet, (think we got the ES90's) and about the same price.

I’m not a fan of those batteries had two fail and they got so hot I could not handle them without gloves
Usually very good to be fair, ours were 10 or more years old when we sold the Flair and I know others have had them a lot longer, might depend on the charger etc, but Davids van is "old school" ;)

New batteries delivered this morning 👍

No date code that I can see, just this , same on both , tried googling but it would appear that Exide no longer use a date code 🤔 seems madness to me, how would they ever resolve a warranty issue

Both reading just under 12.9V which sounds OK to me, now just got to convince a mate to help me fit them 🤔👍

I expect there are more than a few ES900s lurking in sheds. When I have my new van there will be 2 more hardly used ones going in a shed.

Batteries swapped, got a mechanic friend to do it, he can also test the batteries

Both still showing over 13V 2 hours after removal, following morning still high 12V he hooked up a 21W bulb for an hour then tested

One showed 12.6V 60% efficiency, the other 11.6V 0%

Pretty much the same end result as the two previous battery swaps, in our 11 year ownership, at least these have done 7 years and not worth the risk just to change one of them

First change was day 1, we bought the MH privately without spotting the batteries were dead , then again 4 years later, having had six months just using one battery when one had failed

My new Malibu Van is coming with 2 ES900s and weighing in at 56kg for the pair but only having a useable capacity of up to about 120Ah they will be in the classified section shortly. I can get more Ah for half the weight using LiFePO4. Gel batteries are good but they are crazy heavy.
