Just looking
Hi all.
Last year, fitted double leaf springs to our self build campervan.
MWB Fiat Ducato.
See photos below showing progression of changing back to single leaf.
. Double leafIMG_20240507_092343790_HDR.jpgIMG_20240507_092837328_HDR.jpgIMG_20240507_093505873_HDR.jpgIMG_20240507_093841097_HDR.jpgIMG_20240507_104604849_BURST000_COVER.jpg
Reasoning was that in full holiday trim the original single leaves were only just "bowed" and me thinking they were struggling.
Had looked at semi air suspension but decided against.
Anyway, bought and fitted the double springs.
Have also fitted Killen 12205 uprated coil springs at front and KYB has shocks front and back.
Result, OVERSPRUNG. Ride was far too harsh at back end.
Put up with it until now.
Have just finished removing one of the leaves.
Ride is now much better, next stage is semi air, kit is on order.
Hope this helps anyone mulling over what to do if they think the suspension isn't up to the job.
Might save someone making same mistake.
Happy Jack.
