Hi

Can anybody help me please.
went out in the van on Saturday last, first time for a few
weeks but all was well last time out.

Anyway all was ok this time untilll we were coming home,
and the clutch pedel started to stick down, never happened
before and apart from this there were no other problems.

Is it just a case of spraying wd40 around the pedel or do i have
an expensive problem.

All ideas / help greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

depending on the age of your van.

it could be the clutch arm on top of the gearbox has just got rusty with standing.
it could be that the cable is starting to fray and has started sticking or is just seizing up.

other than those i cant think of anything else.
if you are able to do so disconnect the cable from the arm on the top of the gearbox and work it in and out to see if it is the cable at fault. if not give a squirt of wd40 where the arm goes into the gearbox and work it with the pedal inside.

if you have to take it to someone to have it done the worst case scenario is they will have to remove the gearbox to free the arm.

Our Ducato has a one way restrictor in the clutch line to stop the clutch engaging too violently. When the clutch fluid is cold my foot is off the clutch then it starts to bite. Goes away as soon as things warm up.

No idea if this has any connection to your problem.

Seeing as its an 02 model, that'll be two squirts of WD40, followed by two taps with a hammer, or two inches of gaffa tape somewhere,.........
