We’re off to the continent this summer sailing with Stena Line between Harwich and the Hook of Holland. Does anyone have any recommendations for places close by to these ports where we can exercise the dog before joining and after leaving the ferry?

A recent query asked about parking at Harwich overnight and it was mentioned that you can park on Lower Marine Parade overlooking Dovercourt Beach, sounds good for a dog and only ten minutes away from the port. Been through the Hook enough times but never had need of a dog walk but you are soon out of the port and I seem to remember plenty of green off the 211 or even the beach a bit further west.

Hook of Holland has a large grassed area almost as soon as you leave the port, a little further on gives you direct access to a fantastic beach. Check out of Google Earth.
