Of course - they usually get the cheap wrapping paper tho. Yes I wrap where they can’t see what the gift is (one mean trick with Jerry being Velcro to my leg). Usually a toy, food treat and this year a new bed (love my dogs…….)

Absobloodylutely, she’s part of the family, she gets more than me (well Martha the one we lost in may did, Dolly the new rescue is on target to get the most gifts in the house)

Jazz has a special doggy (£15 ) Advent calendar, and Katie a cadbury one. Her and Katie open one window each morning. If Katie is running late, Jazz reminds her. I expect you can guess whether Jazz has a present under the tree or not

We have friends with a lab and one year while wrapping its presents the dog walked in, she then bought something else as the dog had seen it

When they were younger, Jerry opened one of his Xmas prezzie early……..and ate it! We don’t put nice smelling food under the tree now

I decided to get the Budgie an early present. He is very lonely since his friend Ziggy passed away in August and he has to put up with us as his reduced "flock". He now has 2 realistic-looking animatronic Budgie "friends" next to his cage, that move, chirp and even repeat sounds.

The dog has his advent calendar, his stocking and his Christmas tree, all on the passenger seat.

Every morning he checks his stocking, every evening he has his choccy from his calendar. I'm not allowed to turn his tree lights off until he's asleep.

This is not my doing. Actually I'm not allowed near any of it. This is the dogs and Claira's thing, as it always has been.

On Christmas day, he will drag his stocking onto our bed and carefully unwrap his presents. He'll save a few balls (still wrapped) for a few days later.


(Okay, I do get him his MAIN presents )

I always used to get a card and a present from the current cat or dog too, but strangely, not since my parents died
