I recently bought a new Fiat Ducato-based Pilote motorhome, and I would like to verify that I got the engine size that I paid for. However, the data on the metal plate under the bonnet seems to be inconsistent:

MOTORE 46348913
VERSIONE 250GVBAU ABCS1

The engine type code 46348913 seems to indicate either a 160 HP or 180 HP engine. But the 'V' in the version 250GVBAU seems to incidate 140 HP (the 'V'). Both according to the Fiat Ducato Owner Handbook here:

Can anybody help?

Hi there and welcome,

I agree with above advice , call the local fiat professional parts department and give them your VIN or chassis number and they will tell you exactly what you have.

How old is it?ASFAIK all 160hp were the 3 litre Iveco engine, the 180hp of that engine was also the stronger chain drive engine, later 180hps were the belt driven 2.3 litre with a different turbo.

I'll try that, thanks. But still, I'd prefer getting it directly from the vehicle, to rule out any mistakes, and to have solid documentation of it.

have you tried using the Fiat ePER ?
Yes, that site doesn't recognize the VIN. I also tried the Fiat eLUM site, but the data it shows for the VIN has the wrong photo (of a passenger model, not a motorhome model) and the wrong external color (beige instead of white), so doesn't induce a lot of trust.

How old is it?
New, delivered last month.
