We are in Braga .... loving Portugal, LPG at most petrol stations, parking/Park-ups everywhere ( most Free) and the Portuguese what's not too like, weather also improving as we move further south

I have an RWG Sim which I want to activate for Europe next week, any thoughts on which network to choose, EE or Vodaphone will be touring France but mainly Spain. I presume they can set the sim up for Data only and whichever network.

Don’t go with Smarty.

It is ok for small data users. 90p a gig. And any not spent is kept for next time. But for TV etc too expensive ..
Reception varies but sometimes works when vodapain doesn't.

In Portugal @ mo and bought an Unlimited data 30 day sim @ 35 euros...... (Both MEO and Vodaphone) a tad over a £1 per day ..( UK smarty at £20 for same unlimited deal ) and god is it fast ...yes more expensive but we are paying virtually nothing for parking/ overnight stopovers so am not complaining ...

A potential problem may be Switzerland since it is not part of the EU, ditto Norway. Last summer we used RWG with their Global SIM and it worked great in Norway, and Canada (£28/month). I then switched to their EU sim because we were going skiing (£18/month). It didn't work in Switzerland!

Last week I wanted to go back to their Global Sim for an upcoming trip to USA but, confirmed by their support email, they've stopped it so surfing in USA would be £0.50/Mb (£500/Gb!). Cancelled and now will probably pick up a local T- mobile SIM there at $60/month unlimited (I think).

I have an old Three contract in my phone giving me 12Gb/month in all GoRoam countries unlimited in UK, £18/ month). Their support people confirmed it is better than any of their current plans so I shouldn't change.

Popit require you to use some UK data before you can cancel.
RWG £20 200 GB valid 1 month at a time. Been using for 70 days in France worked everywhere

Had and email from RWG last week - they are dropping the 100Gb roaming to 20Gb from April.

Just cancelled their ‘Big Data’ April subscription via the website because of this. Back in the U.K. 5th April so will manage on Lebara and Vodafone phone SIMs for a few days until then.

If no U.K. providers come up with a decent 100gb+ data deal before we leave again in May I’ll grab a local French SIM when we arrive.
