MAJOR changes at a popular tourist hotspot in Gloucestershire will come into effect next month.

Still not sure how this will affect the C&MC site, as the best way into town from there on foot is via Cirencester Park itself…….

Interesting - since the campsite is in the park itself, maybe camping there will include access. Otherwise there will be a lot more people diving through the hedge!

I have just had another look at the website and it looks like there will still be a gate available behind the tennis courts

I presume it may be a bit like at Chatsworth (where you get a key to go through the estate gate) , presumably you will get a pass when you pick up your site tag.

Looks like they have an arrangement with the CMC, this from the sites web page:-

All Club campsite guests will be provided with free pedestrian access into neighbouring Cirencester Park. From Spring 2024, a pass will be provided per pitch at check-in, allowing free access to the park for the duration of your stay.

You will still be able to go through the gate outside the campsite with your pass as far as i can see on the Bathurst estate webpage. The CMC site will give you that pass.

As the Caravan Club are tenants of Cirencester Park, each pitch will be provided with a free Park Pass to use for the duration of your stay. The passes can be collected when you sign in.
We are looking forward to the site reopening and seeing you in the Park again soon.

We have used the CMC site a few times, but won’t at their current prices. It’s a lovely walk through the park and the refreshments trailer is a welcome stop on the way. We will miss them.

Soooo expensive now.

I used to pay about £14 a night for single person in low season. Cheapest now seems to be £21.50.

That's a whopping increase despite claiming they are reducing the price by 6% on some dates!

Making use of our ‘Resident’s Pass’ to visit the park.

Hard standing with awning and ehu is £34 mid week. That’s a fair price. I stopped complaining that a pint of milk was 50p ten years ago as it changes nothing. Look at the price of a new Motorhome in 2024, I will never be into car parks and muddy fields.
