Any recommendations for a site near Chester with hard standing for an 8m motorhome. Ideally with a bus stop close by or 2 miles walking distance.

Little Roodee carpark. £8 per night no facilities apart from a cafe but 200 yards from the walls right by the river and racecourse.

Just for info.... Little Roodee is closed 1st to 12 th May, first race meeting so fair will be there . Don't know why it's 12 days though ,normally only a week.

Without a doubt if you have your own onboard facilities The Roudee Car Park is so convenient just a few minutes walk and you are in the centre of Chester the barrier is locked at night so safe, you take a ticket on entry and pay when you leave. We live very near and have used it many times. When ever we go into Chester there are always quite a few Motorhomes Parked there. If you can get in one of the bays alongside the River a bonus.

on the direct bus route ..stops outside the site.

and cmc club site fairoaks is across the road too

But Roodee is good if you have all.your own facilities

The fair is in town and sets up there.

Give Phil and Jane a call at Heathfield Caravan Site (Guilden Sutton), they are a CMC CL (but if you ask nicely they will accommodate you if not in the CMC), all pitches are Hardstanding, Bus into town outside the gate.

Also Netherwood touring Site in Rowton, walk to Christleton (along canal not road) for bus, walk or ride along the canal towpath into town, slightly more than two miles.

Choose your dates carefully, if the races are on non of us locals go near Town as it's just full of pissed up idiots, it's so bad some shops close!
