Signed up, got the card, paid the surcharge that permits booking ahead. Used for first time yesterday.

Trundling along @ 1100hrs the navigator books a place at our destination for our arrival between 15-1600hrs, but the app gave 1200hrs as the arrival time. So we paid for 24hrs but we're having to leave earlier than we wanted to.

Is this normal, or did the navigator miss summat ?

After I think 5 hours you get charged for 24 hours which starts from the time you swipe in. If you look in the app at your current stay it will tell you when the next period starts.

Next period starts at 1200hrs, entered at 15xx hrs... Paid for 24hrs, only getting 21 ..
Well you need to call them. Look at T&C for booking, it may state it always starts at 12? Don't know anyone else who pays for booking on here to ask.

I would just leave at 1500 if that's when you want to leave. Assuming you arrived after 1500 the previous day then you should only be charged for 24 hours. Check your account afterwards to see this happened.

The 1200 time is just a default time their system uses.

Call them as suggested afterwards if not happy.

I have used it several times and has worked for me. 24 hrs from entering through the gates. It is a bit complicated as it charges the first 5 hrs ( I think ) as service then reverts to the 24 hrs after. But you only pay for 24 hrs. Not had any surcharges. If you want to stay for another night then it just starts again from the time you 1st entered the gate. If confused ring them they are pretty good.

I wouldn't book unless the app shows low availability, just turn up and swipe in.

I think he's/ she's already done it. But I agree, unless it's your first night in France, then it might be good to have a guaranteed place to stop especially if it's a late ferry/ tunnel crossing.

Have you mixed up the 2 booking methods?
Book now, available now until midday tomorrow
Book in advance, Bookings are Midday to Midday
The usual 24 hours stay is 24 hours from arrival without booking

When we booked at 1100hrs the app was showing 3 spaces free (out of 11), so we booked. On arrival at 1530hrs there were 6 spaces.
Just phoned them. If you book, then it's fixed, 1200 to 1200hrs regardless of arrival time. This is not made clear when booking (according to the Navigator).

E-mailed a complaint my argument being that if I'm arriving somewhere at 1900hrs and book to make sure I have a place, a fair policy wouldn't be forcing me out at noon next day.

I copied the booking rules from their website. You can take a chance and get your 24 hours from arrival but if you wish to secure a pitch then they apply their booking rules.
I book several days ahead, nice to know I can roll up anytime from midday as people leave and pitches open up.
