C200 fresh-up kit had different vent system so odd smell. (1 Viewer)

I have just noticed that our original C200 S cassette has a different vent system to the one that came as a part of the C200 'fresh-up' kit. The newer automatic vent valve is flatter with no projection to fit the toilet assy overboard vent pipe. I have ordered a spare valve with the projection
Pt. 2372274, I wonder if this has been the source of an occaisional bad smell in the toilet.

You can just switch them over or buy a new one.

I’ve just had the same delivered and the old cassette has already gone to a new owner.

Is the vent difference an issue, what is an overboard vent pipe?

I have in the past had probems with smells from a vent pipe, although mine is a different design, it did the same job but the vent pipe became detached and no amount of cleaning got rid of the smells until the vent pipe was repaired.

Yes. The original cassette has a raised portion that buts onto the van part of the toilet, a vent pipe leads down from there and to the outside. If you look at the second to last picture you can see the rectangular orifice the valve contacts and the black vent pipe going down. Obviously not fitted to all C200 models. Mine is from 2021.
Edit. Better picture showing the van side of the vent. It has a black rubber seal. Sorry for state if finger, been gardening also made a toy gun as a boy which blew up blowing the side off.

Thank you for extra info, I’ll check mine when it gets back from having a reverse camera fitted. The cassette I swapped out definitely had the different valve…

As suspected I also have the vent pipe so will have to order the correct vent

Part arrived today from EBay/Park Gate Leisure at £17.94
Easy to understand instructions, the bayonet type lugs are different sizes so will only fit correctly. It is lightly sprung loaded so no idea why it has the white sponge part, it is not the seal.

Stops the solids/liquid getting near the seal.

Do not see how it can protect the seal, gunk would just go around it. Perhaps to increase the seal pressure with a completely full tank, or so it floats if broken off making it easier to retrieve from the cess tank, should you choose to do so.

Got mine today from local caravan shop, £11.99 once he blew the dust of it
