Buddy's got a really bad chogh (1 Viewer)

Our dog buddy is fairly I'll with a caught he has next to he contact with other dogs especially strange dogs.
We have been up all night with him we thought he might have got sumthing struck in his thought
But no went to vat this morning harsh haking cough.
He did get a vacsen when he was a puppy for every thing.
But vetanary says it kenil cough no treatments apart from drink and love she says till thay know what viruses it is.
She says it should settle down in a few days
Results back in a few days from swabs taken
It was really worrying though we wer going to lose him

He is a bit of a drama queen he cut his paw few weeks ago when we tell him off he raises his poorly paw and puts on a sad face

I would he had it and still got it though
We have had five dogs over the year's and never had one get the chough
And no e of them had the vacsen the vet say it prolific at the moment in our area

A spoonful of coconut oil or manuka honey every few hours can help ease the cough quite a bit.

I have been giving him honey in warm water when ever he has a coughing fit I have sume manuka honey in my med cabinet forgotten about that.

I've found coconut oil to be the best, as it seems to leave a soothing coating on the throat for longer. Plus they love it. You can buy it in most supermarkets. Aldi do a reasonably priced jar of it.

Meg has kennel cough at present so both dogs confined to barracks.
She is having Meloxicam.(A NSAID , also used in humans but dog dose is tiny as they are very sensitive to it)
She is vaccinated against kennel cough but it is caused by a multitude of viruses so can still get it.
She is much better, cough has gone and Spice hasn't caught it.

Exactly the same as my rufty tufty spaniel. Will deal with anything, until we show interest in his wound. Then out comes the drama. Latest cut.

My boy has also just got over kennel cough. The worst of the cough doesnt last long, and human cough medicine helps as it soothes the throat. A kids one is good, don’t use one that makes him drowsy.

We're using manuka honey my son's dog now has it and he's using Manuka honey .
He loves it tending to put it on so I give him his medisan nosing at the container it in he a smart little bugger.
Told him it halfpast nine and it's bead tim chough chught cough and putting on the poorly face.
