@Jim I'm using Android 7.1.1 on a small screen and can't seem to access the italic button or any of the editing tools in that group. I've tried it by selecting text first and with no text selected. They are all greyed out except the settings button which doesn't seem to do anything. Not critical, I doubt most folk even notice my italics!

On both my iPhone and Galaxy tablet, I can lightly touch 'like it' and it brings up the other options.

That solves it for me on the iPhone
Everything is as it should be on the Galaxy tab.

This is a bit in italics and this bold.

@Jim Yes it's working now but I'm sure it didn't earlier. When not selected it is now orange.

Then when I click on it it goes black and the editing buttons are active.

Not sure why they aren't active all the time though.

Using Android 9 on a OnePlus phone and the italic etc works, although you can't tell if it's active or not until you type. If I hit the cog, it goes orange, the formatting buttons are greyed out, but it shows bbcode (I think it's called) in the reply box.

Not a fan of change but I like it and few things are easier. Think in a week or so it will be much better and the old one long forgotten.

think i noticed someone say it all looks a bit stark in one of the posts. maybe its the contrast between white and the colours you have chosen. just have to get used to it.

The soft grey colour you’ve now got for quotes is much gentler on the eye than the bright white. About 10% of the population have dyslexia to some degree and a pastel background can really help ?.

Emoji's are not easy on lap top though, had got used to using keyboard options on phone, nice and easy there, when I click on smiley icon on my laptop they appear but it gets placed on a new line, if I move the cursor the emojis close

Yes, touching it does bring up what it is but then you have to cancel it and repeat until you find the one you want.

Went off to a MCC rally in Devon and didn't look at Fun for a few days, panicked when I tried to get my daily Fun fix, had to register again, more panic, got on didn't recognise site, more panic, tried again today, relax and breathe, phew!!!! Like the changes Jim. Works fine on my phone (android), ta muchly.
