ok the wee man got a telescope from Santa not knowing much abut that stuff where do I start it is a 30 x 60 x 50mm it has other eye pieces we got it as discounted because the instructions were missing:Eeek:
me being me no problem nothing to it:Doh:
there is an f=18
f=9
watt ever they mean:whatthe:
be kind to an old fool:ROFLMAO:

I want to take him out tonight star gazing as the sky will be clear
and I know a place with not much light pollution

the moon Jupiter watt ever we can see with his rig

Awww, Bill... Can't help with the telescope questions but can imagine the little man will really enjoy the delights of using it. Please keep us updated with how you are both going on with it. :Smile:

Perhaps Grommet can help. He seems to know a lot about unusual things.

much more now
the "f" numbers mean the size of the aperture (or hole) Bill and these govern the amount of light and best focus in the scope.

The "f-18" has a smaller hole and therefore lets less light in but will give a clearer focus and the the other one will have a bigger hole and therefore let more light in but the focus will not be quite as good.

If you have a smart phone you could download Sky Walk or similar, it's a point and tell app which shows you what is in the sky etc, which could help knowing where to point the telescope. :thumb:
