Lovely, but I’ll “see your Azalea with one Rhododendron “.😎

Seriously, yours is a great display!
What do I need to do to grow a Rhododendron? There are rhododrendons growing in a hedge near me, can I just pull a chunk off and plant it in my garden?

Every time Tasha, our JRT/YT cross goes into the garden, or out for a walk nearby, Red Kites ‘appear’ in the skies above…….we always say to her that ‘her mates are looking to play (eat!) with her…….’ ;)

If you find where a smallish twig joins a larger branch pull it away in the opposite direction to its growth ie if it is growing upwards pull it off in a downwards direction so that it comes off with a small tail of bark.

Use rooting powder if you have it, plant in potting compost and keep the soil moist, it should take root. You can buy specific composts for rhododendrons which will help. When it has started growing you can transplant it together with its compost from its pot. It’s a good idea to start two or three twigs at the same time in case of failures.

Good luck.

Look at this beauty in my green house this morning, it's a bee hawk moth I've never seen one before.
