3 years added to my C1 at age 68 (1 Viewer)

I'm adding Cat C to my licence (if I pass the test). Did the D4D medical and sent off forms and licence - no cost!

Licence came back inside 2 weeks with the C provisional added (although this does not actually appear on the licence) but is on the website.

Has an expiry date of 3 years from start date to 14/5/27 for all categories which takes me to 71.5 years old. Surprised as I thought I would need to apply and renew when I turned 70?

Yes I was aware of that hence my post for info. Perhaps worth anyone else applying early if they have any medical condition that may worsen as they get closer to 70 and risk failing the medical?

I think you will still need to renew at 70 as that's when the licence expires, not the categories.
If you look at your other categories they all expire together on your 70th.

No, not now. All categories renew on 14/5/27.

If I pass the C class that becomes.es an annual renewal I think.

As you have completed the medical, the three years is covered for your standard license but I would expect that a test pass on the class C will require another renewal at 71

Yes I agree that becomes an annual renewal rather than 3 year intervals - from age 65 on C entitlement.
