Just booked our ferry crossing for mid-April for our latest adventure. Harwich-Hook of Holland overnight (with pet-friendly cabin,) through N/NE Germany into Poland, proposed duration 3 weeks (flexible.)
Planning to visit Peenemunde, (V-weapons site,) Stalag Luft 3 memorial and museum (of Great Escape fame,) and also the Wolf's Lair, which was Hitler's hideout/fortress in NE Poland, famous for the unsuccessful bomb attempt to kill Hitler (Operation Valkyrie.) Rest of trip is flexible, although I have visited several places in Poland before (Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow amongst them.)
Despite Hull being about an hour's drive from home, P&O are not doing any deals for crossings, so Stena got the gig from Harwich (a saving of over £250 for like-for-like crossings, so a no brainer really...)
