That's that. We are packed, we are loaded and we are even weighed.
The we is obviously me (Haggers) Nikki (long suffering Mrs Haggers) and of course the Bear that is Betty bear the Newfoundland.
Why am I doing this journal one might ask? Well, quite simply just lately whilst scouring Youtube for various things, I have noticed something. The world is all of a sudden full of wannabe presenters that if they were made of chocolate, would literally eat themselves.
I just wanted to go for the old fashion, memoirs of a mad man.
So why are we going? Well it just happens that there is an Ironman 70.3 race in Porec Croatia and I talked Nikki in to training me to do it. Quite frankly, on the back of a year that has seen various half marathons, 1 70.3 in Staffs, The long course weekend in Tenby and of course Ironman Wales just 5 weeks ago (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike 26.2 marathon all in one go) I thought one more end of season race won't kill me? well it nearly has.
Add to this that since IM Wales, I have bought a new car (Tesla electric) sold a car (non electric) and took the decision to change the Motorhome which is akin to moving house!!! this has been some few weeks.
Today, is Prep day- So the new van is fully loaded with everything we need and I took it to the weighbridge. We came out at 3890 including full tank of Water and a full tank of diesel, Me, Nikki and Betty. So I have a few kgs to spare for the journey home.
The change over went well, we swapped our Huge wallowing Hymer back to a Coach built Carthago C Tourer on the heavy chassis.
so out with the old.
And in with the New.
Tomorrow, we leave Cheshire and head for Dover. Ferry 09-30 Friday and then the tour starts.
