UK Online Safety Act 2023

  • Fraudulent and Scamming Content: Phishing schemes, fraudulent advertisements, or any deceptive practices aimed at financial exploitation.
  • Intimate Image Abuse: Sharing or distributing intimate images or videos without consent, also known as “revenge porn.”
  • Incitement to Violence: Encouraging or glorifying violence, self-harm, or other criminal activities.

Potential Harm to Users, Especially Children

Certain types of content, while not necessarily illegal, pose significant risks to users, particularly minors. We actively work to reduce exposure to:

  • Cyberbullying and Harassment: Any form of online bullying, harassment, or intimidation that could cause emotional distress.
  • Harmful or Disturbing Content: Graphic violence, self-harm content, or other psychologically distressing material unsuitable for young users.
  • Misinformation and Disinformation: False or misleading claims, particularly in areas such as health, safety, and legal matters.
  • Addiction and Excessive Screen Time: Encouraging responsible use of online platforms, avoiding content that promotes compulsive behaviours.
  • Predatory Behaviour: Any attempt to groom or exploit minors through messaging, forum posts, or other site interactions.

How We Address These Risks

Content Moderation and Reporting

To safeguard our members, we have implemented the following measures:

  • New Members: Posts from new users are flagged for moderation to ensure a legitimate interest in the community.
  • Active Moderation: We maintain a high moderator-to-user ratio, ensuring vigilant monitoring of discussions and uploaded content. Posts that are reported are immediately hidden until validated by a moderator.
  • User Reporting System: Any member can report content that violates our guidelines. Reports trigger email notifications and are reviewed several times daily to ensure prompt action.
  • Private Message Oversight: While direct messages (DMs) remain private, it is not now possible to share images or videos. Users can also report inappropriate DMs for further investigation.

Age Verification and Restrictions

  • Age Declaration: Members must confirm their age on registration. User must by 18 or over
  • DM Restrictions: Users under 18 cannot send or receive private messages.
  • Family-Friendly Content: Even though minors are not allowed in the forum. All forum discussions and uploaded materials must be appropriate for all age groups.

By implementing these policies, MotorhomeFun.co.uk ensures compliance with the UK Online Safety Act 2023 while fostering a secure, welcoming space for motorhome enthusiasts. We continually assess risks across all categories of illegal content and are confident that the risk remains negligible within our community.

Risk Level Negligible

Evidence and Reasoning While users can post content, but the community is small, over 18 and well moderated. 18 years of history with a very volume of user reports, moderator presence, clear community guidelines.

Negation and Mitigation  The report system works well and any suspect content is immediately hidden from view before be moderated or deleted. User breaking the site rules are banned for life. User breaking the law will be reported to the authorities.

Risk Level Negligible

Evidence and Reasoning Users can use the direct message system. No users are under 18. No images or videos may be swapped by direct message. 

Negation and Mitigation  While direct Messages are private, they can be scanned for harmful keywords. Every message has a report button. the message can be reported to staff. 


Risk: Anonymity Harassment, stalking, hate Speech, illegal content sharing

Risk Level Negligible

Evidence and Reasoning Users cannot post anonymously. 

Negation and Mitigation  Users must register to post, verify emails, IP Addresses are recorded


Risk: We don’t Verify Ages CSEA, Exposure to Harmful Content

Risk Level Very Low

Evidence and Reasoning Young people are rarely motorhome enthusiasts. Even if they gained access to our website. Our terms forbid any kind of pornography, so they will not see any.

Negation and Mitigation Our terms make it clear that pornography of any kind is prohibited and members will be banned for posting it. . 

Negation and Mitigation The report system works well, and any suspect content is immediately hidden from view before being moderated or deleted. Users breaking the site rules are banned for life. A user breaking the law will be reported to the authorities.
