I assume that by 'screws' you mean 'valves'........(I'm not being pedantic but it is rather important not to make any incorrect assumptions).Have two LPG yellow gas flow bottles and just opened the two screws on top........
It's the bubbles from the soapy water that you need to brush on as opposed to the soapy water. Make sure there are plenty of bubbles. PS - it's not the gas you can smell it's an additive called Mercaptan, but if you can smell it then there is usually a leak, though older systems do sometimes have a lingering smell, you should still check it or have it checked. While you're checking it, make sure that the drop vents in the gas locker/compartment, designed to allow any leaking gas escape, are not blocked.Until you get hold of a leak detector spray ,brush on some soapy water and see if it creates any bubbles.
When you first open a gas valve you can normally hear the gas hiss ,but then it should stop.
Best to just open one valve at a time .there is no need to open both together..
The yellow bottles are probably gaslow ,by the way .
Take it to a authorised Gas installer get it checked and repaired it’s one of those things to better be safe than sorry in fact if the worse happened you won’t be around to be sorry. (sounds harsh but sometimes for the unfortunate true)Have two LPG yellow gas flow bottles and just opened the two screws on top and can smell a bit of gas and a hiss noice that maybe the gas starting to move through the system or maybe leaking
Ideas?
