It doesn't help that Fiat/Stellantis do not field the Vin number with all the information it could; simply placing loads of 0's which other manufacturers use to give additional vehicle specification even on their Panel Vans!

The Malibu configuration I was given in October 23 for my new van, scheduled for production June 24, shows it as a Series 9.

Mine was produced in 2022 and has the updated dash and driver assistance stuff - so I refer as a Series 8. It's VIN starts with ZFA250.. Work that one out of you can.... 😀

Ditto for my 2022, but as posted above after the ZFA meaning Fiat 250 there are 4No 0's which actually tell you nothing but could! So my actual Vin tells me I have a Fiat Ducato and its serial number and nothing else!

What I am struggling with is the differences between Series 8 and Series 9. Any ideas anyone?

A partial answer to my own question. Exterior and interior changes and 8 speed auto to replace the 9 speed, which seems to confirm earlier information found on motorhomefun.
