Apologies as this may have been asked before. My 2008 Fiat cab is losing it's paint and I'm thinking of having it resprayed. A friend suggested a 'wrap'. What are the pros and cons?

I believe to get a good finish on a wrap it has to have good paint. Or it doesn't stick well.

We’ve just got our 2007 Fiat cab booked in for respray/patching due to the same issue and investigating the options open to us.

Looked at wraps but a) any blemish will show through (e.g. missing paint) and as Northernraider says, needs good paint to adhere to.

So you have a ball-park figure, it’s going to cost us between £700-£800 for the work on our cab.

If you have any upcoming trips planned to Morocco or Turkey you could get a cab resprayed there for a lot less.

Thanks for the comments, leaning towards a respray and have spoken to a local commercial bodyshop. They are stowed out with work but looking at December/January if the estimate is favourable. Only 30 odd miles away so a bonus living where we are. The local body shop can't take anything our size sadly as they are really very goosd otherwise.

Look at the growing number of home dentmaster style businesses that are popping up everywhere. The local one we have is brilliant and comes to you. Very professional 👍🏻

I’ve always thought that keeping your vehicle in its original condition will serve its resale value rather than ‘customising’ with a wrap.

Our first hymer came with a front end respray that the original owner had done. My point here is it was metalic finish and not only looked better than the white front but didn't fade and was a joy to clean.
